Roosevelt Rockets Started the New School Year with Another Mural Painting Project!

School District of Palm Beach – Roosevelt Elementary

August 16, 2014

Following last years successful mural project and seeing the positive impact it made, Engineered Tax Services proudly sponsored a second mural project for the Roosevelt Rockets. The program has become a part of doing something positive for both the kids and the community. On Saturday, staff of Engineered Tax Services, artist Eduardo Mendieta, and community members volunteered their time to complete this years mural and kick start the new school year with something special for the students. The project took about 2 days to complete with approximately 30 volunteers who helped out. On behalf of ETS, we would like to thank all of those involved who helped make this years mural as successful as last years!

How we got started

In honor of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, Julio Gonzalez, CEO, and staff of Engineered Tax Services (ETS) decided to do something positive each month to help the children at Roosevelt Elementary School, located near our headquarters office in West Palm Beach, Florida. ETS started a monthly Roosevelt Rockets Reading Buddies’ program where ETS employees and friends donated their lunch-hour and read with first graders.

Eduardo Mendieta spray-paints a character in his 50-foot-by-13-foot outdoor mural that he created with the assistance about 30 volunteers. The project took two days to complete.
